Our 2022 tour itinerary has been re-designed to provide a more assuring environment for all attending, with a relaxing and fun atmosphere. A weekend of knitting classes, meeting top knitwear designers and experts, as well as a pop up market place and social events just for you - all to whet your appetite for your continued knitting adventure across Ireland!

Carrickmacross Lace dates back to the 1820’s, and tours of the Lace Gallery delve into its history. Carrickmacross Lace Gallery is located in the heart of the picturesque Monaghan town of Carrickmacross, from which this exquisite lace gets its name.

On display are contemporary designs alongside more traditional Irish pieces, from small souvenir gifts to large commissioned pieces. Demonstrations are available by skilled crafts people.

Slieve League Cliffs & Visitor Centre Views from the Slieve League Cliffs in Donegal

are stunning and the visitor centre is full of local history and culture. These sea cliffs in Donegal rival the famous Cliffs of Moher in County Clare.
They rise 609 meters above sea level and the views are stunning. The visitor centre is full of local history and culture and the giftshop stocks some locally made knitwear.

Carol Feller: Exclusive Knitting Class at Woollinn with Carol Feller of Stolen Stitches & Contemporary Irish Knits Carol has travelled the world teaching in yarn shops and fibre festivals, including Knit Nation in London, Edinburgh Yarn Festival and Unwind.

The classes she teaches cover a wide range of subjects from cables and chart reading, through garment shaping and customisation right through to short rows and colourwork

Spinning and Tapestry Workshop: Áine Dunne Fine Art Tapestry Weaver works from her studio in Co. Louth on the east coast of Ireland.

She designs and weaves bespoke tapestry wall coverings for public and private clients. Áine also provides workshops in tapestry hand weaving and hand spinning. These workshops are tailored to suit the needs of participants. It is a truly enjoyable experience to sit in the quiet of the Boyne Valley and partake in this ancient hands-on creative process.

Old Mellifont Abbey in The Boyne Valley is located in Co Louth

The Boyne Valley is one of Ireland’s most historic regions. You will enjoy a guided tour of Old Mellifont Abbey the first Cistercian monastery in Ireland, founded in 1142 by Saint Malachy, Archbishop of Armagh. In 1603 the famous Treaty of Mellifont was signed at Mellifont Abbey between the English Crown and Hugh O'Neill, Earl of Tyrone.

At Crafts of Ireland with Sandra, you will learn how to Crochet a traditional Irish Rose motif that often adorns Irish knitwear, see a spinning demonstration as well as a sock knitting demonstration on an antique sock knitting machine.
