Scotland is renowned for its natural beauty, history and craft so this Scotland Knitting Tour featuring the Scottish Highlands will not disappoint! Set against a backdrop of the beautiful Highland landscape and historic Edinburgh, vibrant Glasgow, coastal Oban, the Scottish Borders and so much more! Starting in Edinburgh, explore the iconic Edinburgh Castle, castle sat on a plinth of imposing volcanic rock, visit the Scottish Textiles Experience and enjoy a Lace Stitch Pattern knitting class with Karie Westermann and a visit to the fabulous Ginger Twist Studios! Spend a day in historic New Lanark Mills, a World Heritage Centre before moving on to Glasgow and a panoramic tour highlighting the best of Glasgow culture and architecture. Take a trip to nearby royal Stirling for an enjoyable morning of weaving with yarn and cotton in the elegant surrounds of Radical Weavers followed by a visit to The Orry Mill yarn store in Glasgow! Enjoy free evenings in the cultural city of Glasgow before heading into the Scottish Highlands! Take some photos of the outstanding natural beauty of Loch Lomond and explore Inveraray with its castle and jail. Step back in time to the Auchindrain Township and enjoy a wonderful demonstration of traditional waulking with wool. Enjoy the picturesque sea beauty of Oban and a Moebius Cowl knitting class with Deborah Gray. Enjoy lunch in scenic Fort William and explore the treasures of the Caledonian Wool Company. Investigate the mysteries of Loch Ness at The Loch Ness Centre before trying to spot Nessie for yourself! Visit one of the Highland’s most important sites and Outlander filming location, Culloden Battlefield. Enjoy a wee dram and the secrets of distilling whisky at a Highland Distillery.  In Perth visit Scone Palace, the crowning place of Scottish Kings, set in 100 acres of woodland gardens. In Dundee visit Verdant Works, which tells the story of the textile industry in the region. A fabulous Di Gilpin Gansey workshop, Afternoon Tea at the Old Course Hotel and fun with  Bowbridge Alpacas fill our stop in St. Andrews, before returning to Edinburgh for your Farewell Taste of Scotland!
