Nuria Picos is an embroiderer from Barcelona with nearly 20 years of experience. What first started as a hobby has grown into a colourful passion that has taken her all over the world.
Nuria kicked off her training in Lyon, studying Glazig embroidery with French expert Pascal Jaouen. From there, she went on to refine her skills at the Royal School of Needlework in London. Her love for gold embroidery then led her to Seville for an internship at a historic religious workshop. Today, she continues to perfect her craft at the prestigious École Lesage in Paris.
Throughout her career, Nuria has had the opportunity to embroider book covers for top publishers, including Planeta and Penguin Random House. She has also written her very own embroidery book and translated many others. Additionally, she has created gorgeous embroidery knits for DMC, collaborated with several brands and magazines, and even created an Adidas stand for Sónar.
Above all, Nuria’s greatest joy lies in sharing her passion for embroidery. She is dedicated to teaching others the skills and serenity that the art has brought her.
Embroidery is the wisdom of many hands of anonymous women who over the centuries have created unique and extraordinary works.
