Scotland is a paradise for weaving enthusiasts! Radical Weavers, a Scottish charity founded by Mairi Breslin is based in the Scottish town of Stirling. Here, they offer a wide variety of woven products and exciting weaving classes.

Focused on sustainability and inclusivity, this charity welcomes anyone in the local community to participate. Whether you’re an experienced weaver or just a beginner, the studio offers a range of workshops tailored to different skill levels.

Workshop Options:

  • Design & Weave Your Own Tartan: Transform personal stories and cherished memories into your very own fabric. Skilled tutors will guide you through every step.
  • Weave Traditional Tartan Coasters: Learn the basics of weaving and create a set of 4-6 coasters using fine Shetland wool. Since all the materials are prepared in advance, you can jump straight into your weaving journey with ease. This two-hour session is ideal for beginners.
  • Weave A Tartan Scarf: Spend a full day creating your own tartan scarf. Learn how to use a rigid heddle loom and weave with three different shades of wool. Thanks to expert instruction, you’ll finish the day with a stylish scarf to take home!

Radical Weavers prides itself on being a friendly, welcoming environment. Moreover, the passionate teachers make sure you leave with both new skills and a deeper appreciation for Scottish traditions.

So, get excited! Radical Weavers provides a unique opportunity to dive into the world of Scottish weaving.

Weaving with us isn't just a hobby; it's an adventure waiting to be woven.
