What to Expect on a Knitting Tour If You Can’t Knit

A knitting tour isn’t just for knitters—there’s so much to see and do! It’s a perfect getaway whether you’re interested in arts, culture or simply exploring beautiful destinations. Here’s what you can expect on a knitting tour—even if you don’t knit.

  1. Stunning Scenery Edinburgh Castle on a hill

Knitting tours take you to gorgeous locations like the Scottish Highlands, the Irish countryside, or the Spanish coast. You’ll experience charming villages and visit major tourist attractions, like Edinburgh Castle or Trinity College. These stunning landscapes alone will make the trip worth it. This year we’ve introduced Knit Copenhagen, where you’ll get to sail leisurely past The Little Mermaid, The Opera House and Christiansborg Palace. There are so many new places for you to go and see!!

  1. Social Scene Friends bonding over food

Knitting tours offer a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow travellers. Oftentimes our knitters bring along spouses, friends, or kids along for the ride, so don’t worry about feeling alone. You don’t need to be a knitter to make friends! Whether you’re bonding over meals or exploring local attractions, you’ll have plenty of chances to meet new people. It’s easy to make lasting connections with people who share a love for adventure!

  1. Discover Local Craftsmanship Selection of yarn

Even if you’re not knitting, you can still appreciate the local craftsmanship. Visit yarn shops, enjoy artisan demonstrations, and learn about the centuries-old traditions that make knitting such a beloved craft. If you’re travelling alongside a knitter, they would undoubtedly appreciate you taking an interest in their hobby.

  1. Relaxation and Downtime Lyrath Estate

Our travel experts ensure you stay in the best luxury accommodations so you won’t need to worry about a thing! For example, on our Knit Barcelona tour, your hotel will have an indoor and outdoor pool, a sauna, and a fitness centre.  Also, our accommodations are always set in a great location to allow you to sightsee with ease. From nature walks to spa visits, knitting tours offer the perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. And with your own customisable itinerary, you’ll have plenty of time to recharge.

  1. Optional Crafting Activities Golf Course in Ireland

Don’t knit? No problem! You can participate in all the activities (except the knitting workshops) and will have plenty of other exciting experiences to enjoy instead.

And, if you’ve booked a private knitting tour, we can arrange new craft activities that are beginner-friendly such as natural dyeing, weaving or sewing. Enjoy felting classes with Liz Spillane or play a round of golf in one of Ireland’s many famous clubs. Remember, not every tour is reserved only for knit-related workshops. And, you don’t need to be an expert to join in on the creative fun!

Special Offer for Non-Knitters on our scheduled tours!

If you’re not a knitter but still want to join the fun, you’ll get a £200/€200 discount when you bring a spouse, family member, or friend along! They can participate in all the activities (except the knitting workshops) and will have plenty of other exciting experiences to enjoy during the knitting sessions.

There’s a lot more to our tours than just knitting.
