Once that’s done you’ll be able to experience the KnittingTours website perfectly.
She’s the creator of the “Short Hook” method for lace and colourwork shawls. Aoibhe is also known to dabble in amigurumi, traditional crochet and knitting.
Aoibhe doesn’t believe in mistakes—she calls them “alternative methods” and loves seeing her patterns get creative twists.
She adores crochet and admits she prefers it over knitting. There’s a wonderful logic to it and a freedom that is unique to crochet. But, she also loves the textures and techniques knitting offers. When she found Tunisian crochet, she realized it’s the best of both worlds.
Tunisian crochet uses a longer hook and combines basic crochet techniques. If you can knit, you can already crochet Tunisian!
Aoibhe Ni’s design ideas often revolve around shawls. They let her play with fun geometry while being a garment for everyone, no matter their shape, size, or gender. Wrapping a shawl around your shoulders makes it fit perfectly, making them quick and easy to design. Plus, they don’t use up a lot of yarn, making them a great, economical choice!
For Aoibhe, nothing is more inspiring than chatting with crocheters and knitters about what they’re creating next. She thrives on the energy in classes and trunk shows. When she’s not designing, she’s teaching, spreading creative energy everywhere!
I’m never unhappy in a room full of people who have plans, and makers always have plans.
