Pauline Gallagher founded The Knitting Class, where she teaches knitting courses, workshops, and classes. She first learned to knit as a child in Derry, Northern Ireland, from her mum and the nuns at school.
As a teacher, Pauline shares her love for knitting history, techniques, and global styles. She enjoys helping clients learn new skills and create handmade gifts. Pauline focuses on the ‘why’ behind each technique, not just the ‘how to.’ She believes this deeper understanding makes you a more intuitive knitter.
Pauline has taught hundreds of knitters, from beginners to experts. She makes learning clear, fun, and accessible for all. Whether you’re knitting your first scarf or designing intricate garments, she’s there to guide you. Pauline also designs and writes hand knitting patterns, some of which are self-published on Ravelry. Her first pattern, ‘OisinOwl,’ became a bestseller on its release. She’s also been featured in Knit magazine (UK).
In 2012, Pauline completed the Fashion Design FETAC level 5 course. Today, she creates hand-sewn Donegal tweed accessories, sold through her Etsy shop, WinnieRoseHandmade.
