Dublin: Both the largest city and capital of Ireland Dublin has hundreds of historic buildings including the GPO Witness History Museum; located in one of Dublin’s most famous buildings the museum tells the story of the 1916 Rising in Dublin through special effects, soundscapes and stories from real Irish people.

Take a walk at your leisure and explore the vibrant Temple Bar area which boasts a dazzling choice of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops to suit all tastes and pockets, all within easy walking distance of many interesting cultural centres and galleries. Also, there is an option on your free time to walk and shop in Grafton Street - Ireland's popular shopping street full of all clothing and department stores.

Harvey’s Point Hotel: Harvey’s Point is the main hotel for our Northwest Knitting Retreat, a stunning hotel in a scenic, peaceful area. This 4-star hotel enjoys a stunning scenic location amidst the Bluestack Mountains and on the shores of of the beautiful Lough Eske.

Carrickmacross Lace dates back to the 1820’s, and tours of the Lace Gallery delve into its history. Carrickmacross Lace Gallery is located in the heart of the picturesque Monaghan town of Carrickmacross, from which this exquisite lace gets its name.

On display are contemporary designs alongside more traditional Irish pieces, from small souvenir gifts to large commissioned pieces. Demonstrations are available by skilled craftspeople.

Glencolmcille At Glencolmcille reconstructed cottages show what life was once like for the people here. When you visit the Folk Village, you will experience a genuine Irish welcome with the cottages offering an authentic glimpse into rural Ireland during 1700’s 1800’s and 1900’s.

St. Brigid's Cross/Tapestry/ knitting craft workshops and traditional music and Irish culture events are also held here.

Slieve League Cliffs & Visitor Centre: Views from the Slieve League Cliffs in Donegal are stunning and the visitor centre is full of local history and culture. These sea cliffs in Donegal rival the famous Cliffs of Moher in County Clare.

They rise 609 meters above sea level and the views are stunning. The visitor centre is full of local history and culture and the giftshop stocks some locally made knitwear.

The Ulster American folk park is a living history, they have spinning & weaving cottages and do demonstrations on traditional techniques. The Ulster American Folk Park recreates a time when local crafts and trades people played a vital part in manufacturing and delivering the goods and services that were needed.

Costumed visitor guides relate tales of everyday life and customs while demonstrating traditional crafts and skills such as spinning, basket making, printing, quilting, blacksmithing, open hearth cooking and corn craft.

County Donegal is a largely Irish-speaking area bordering the Atlantic Ocean in northwest Ireland. Donegal is famed for its castles, rugged coastline and mountains such as the majestic Mount Errigal which measures 749 meters.

Donegal has a rugged coastline and several natural sea loughs. Its Slieve League cliffs are amongst the highest in Europe, and Donegal is home to Malin Head, the most northerly point on the island of Ireland.

The Constant Knitter Named one of the “Best Shops in Ireland” by The Irish Times and its readers, this shop is a mecca for knitting, crochet and craft aficionados. The shop stocks Irish brands such as Studio Donegal and Cushendale, indie dyers, Ellie and Ada, The Fibre Kitchen and Green Elephant Yarns.

They also stock some wonderful brands such as Schoppel-Wolle, West Yorkshire Spinners, Adriafil, Rial Filati, Katia and Rico. We often bring knitting groups there for classes, demonstrations or trunk shows.
